The Great Barracuda
The Great Barracuda belongs to the Sphyraenidae family. Adult specimens are generally between 60 and 100 cm long and weigh between 2.5 and 9.0 kg. It has a life span of 14 years. They are thought to spawn in the spring. It can be fished all year round. The large barracuda has a slim, streamlined body that is round in the middle. The Warsaw Grouper belongs to the Serranidae family. It can reach a maximum length of 226 cm for 263 kg. It can live for more than 30 years. They lay eggs from August to September. The Warsaw grouper is the only member of the genus Epinephelous that has 10 dorsal spines, the second of which is much longer than the third. The color is a greyish brown to dark reddish brown background with many small irregular white spots on the sides. The color appears much lighter around the neck and along the posterior edge of the lid. All fins are dark brown, except for the white spiny part of the dorsal fin. The young are characterized by a yellow caudal fin; dark stool on the caudal peduncle; and some whitish spots on the body.

Many fossil remains, several million years old and dating from the dinosaur era, show that the tarpon has the particularity of having changed very little during its long existence. It can be recognized by its streamlined body covered with large silver scales and its mouth with a prominent lower jaw with many small pointed teeth. These characteristics seem to have inspired the different appellations attributed to it according to its geographical distribution: "Silver King" in America or the "Great Scale" in the West Indies.

The caudal fin is slightly lunar and the first three dorsal spines are elongated and thickened, dragging behind the fin. The tips of the dorsal and anal fins are pointed. It uses its elongated pig-shaped snout and large protruding mouth to root around the prey's lower substrate. The color of the hogfish is variable and depends on age, sex and habitat. It generally ranges from pearl white to mottled red with a black spot at the back base of the soft ridge. Men tend to be more intense in color than women. Young individuals and females are mainly pale grey, brown or reddish brown, with a lighter underside. The iris is a bright red color.
